WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE — Seniors Caitlyn Robinson and Emilie Fisher had big games offensively that backed the pitching of Claire Carruthers as Clinton-Massie defeated Washington 8-0 in South Central Ohio League softball action.

Carruthers scattered seven hits while improving her record to 4-0.

“I have to give Claire Carruthers a big pat on the back,” CM coach Anthony Lauer said. “Claire pitched 7 scoreless innings and did a great job hitting her spots. Claire’s change-up was great and kept the Court House hitters off balance all night.”

As a team, Clinton-Massie is 10-0 overall and 6-0 in the SCOL.

Robinson homered to lead-off the third inning. She finished with three hits and four runs batted in. Fisher had four hits and knocked in three runs.

Kelsey Carter also had three hits and scored three runs.

Lauer also lauded his squad’s defense for turning two double plays. The last double play came in the seventh when Carruthers fielded a come-backer and wrapped things up as the Lady Blue Lions had the bases loaded.
