FELICITY — Blake Baker pitched a no-hitter against Felicity Monday as the Blanchester baseball team defeated the Cardinals 12-0 in five innings in a Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference National Division game.

“Blake really settled in after the first,” BHS head coach Aaron Lawson said. “We spoke to him (in between the first and second inning) about making a minor adjustment to stay on top of the ball and throw down hill. When he did that his stuff looked really good.”

Baker struck out eight and walked three in the complete game performance.

The win improves BHS to 7-3 overall and 5-1 in the league. The Wildcats will play Clermont Northeastern 7 p.m. Wednesday at Midland Field in a Cincinnati Reds Showcase game.

“I’m glad we showed up and took care of business today,” Lawson said. “This is one of the harder bus trips to make. I’m happy with the way the team performed late. Hopefully we can roll that energy over into Wednesday night and get another big league win. Playing under the lights at Midland will be a neat experience.”

Dylan Fawley had two hits and drove in two runs. Alec Richardson and Daulton Stevens had two hits each. Jared Monhollen had a two-run double for BHS.
