Southern State CC forming eSports team for fall semester

Southern State Community College is now recruiting players for the 2021 fall semester eSports team.

The Patriots eSports team will compete in the National Association of Collegiate eSports League this fall. The team’s goal, according to a press release, is provide players the opportunity to express their competitiveness and passion for gaming while working to complete their degree and provide scholarships to student-athletes.

To participate on the SSCC team, prospective recruits must be full-time students at Southern State, have experience with eSports or gaming; and be able to practice two nights per week and compete in tournaments on a weekly basis.

The team is scheduled to practice 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays in the fall in the school’s eSports Arena.
