Blan girls close, but fall late to GHS 3-2

GEORGETOWN — With a goal late in the match, Georgetown defeated Blanchester 3-2 in SBAAC National Division girls soccer action Tuesday night.

Blanchester is 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the National Division. This was the first match for the Lady G-Men.

Down 1-0 at halftime, Blanchester tied the match early in the second half on a goal by Rylan Coyle. Freshman Jaida Jones then put the Ladycats on top “with a beautiful goal from the sideline,” coach Kristina White said.

Torie Potts was in goal for Blanchester and made six saves.

Georgetown won last year’s matchups with Blanchester by scores of 7-1 and 3-0 and now has a seven-match win streak over BHS, dating back to the 2018 season. GHS outscored BHS 30-2 in the previous six matches.
