The inaugural Rick Moyer Legacy Fund Pump and Run or Walk was held Saturday with more than 90 participants.

Winners were crowned in several categories. There were 16 pump contestants and 80 run/walk contestants.

The Rick Moyer Legacy Fund partnered with Vital Fitness, Abbott Image Solutions and the Strength Lab to begin the annual event. The RMLF is associated with the Clinton County Foundation.

The RMLF promotes educational scholarships for seniors from all Clinton County schools including Wilmington, East Clinton, Blanchester, Clinton Massie, Laurel Oaks, and the Christian Academy. The scholarships assist seniors interested in continuing education in the following fields: history, agriculture, criminal justice, sports medicine, sports management or vocational studies. Contact the Clinton County Foundation, or a high school guidance counselor for further information regarding scholarships and how to apply.

The first Rick Moyer Legacy Fund Pump and Run or Walk event was able to raise enough funds to sponsor two future scholarships of $1,000 each with the help of the participants and sponsors.

Sponsors who supported the event were CM Farms LLC, Vital Fitness, the Strength Lab, Polaris, Clinton Animal Care Center, the Elks 797, Caribou Sanitation, Wilmington Nutrition, Wilmington Auto Center, Wagstaff Family Dental, Abbott Image Solutions, Quali-Tee Design Sportswear, RenRon Entertainment, and Shades of Excellence Photography.

Many volunteers contributed to ensure the success of the event, according to a press release from RMLF.

The RMLF looks forward to future events, including the 2nd annual Rick Moyer Legacy Fund Pump and Run or Walk which will be held the 3rd Saturday of September, 2022.
