The Wilmington High School baseball team swept a doubleheader Saturday with Winton Woods, taking the first game 10-1 and the second game 15-3.
The wins put the Hurricane at 15-7 on the year.
In the first game, Jake Vaughan pitched four innings to earn the victory on the mound, striking out four and surrendering no hits. The run he allowed was unearned.
Brett Bell pitched the final three innings and gave up just one hit.
Stephen Krause swung a big bat with three hits — two doubles and a triple — and four runs batted in.
Chris Wolary had two hits and an RBI while Ryan Hottinger had two hits and two RBI.
In the second game, a five-inning WHS victory, Zach Wyrick picked up the win, pitching four innings and giving up two earned runs. He struck out five. Brad Keller pitched the final inning for the Hurricane.
Wolary had three of Wilmington’s 14 hits. He drove in two runs.
Maryln Frisco had two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs. Brady McCune had two hits and knocked in a run. Krause had a double, a triple and two RBI. DJ Ames had two hits and knocked in two runs. Keller had a hit and drove in three runs.
