HILLSBORO — The Blanchester High School tennis team opened its season Saturday with a 4-1 loss to Hillsboro in a non-league match at HHS.

“Hillsboro has a very solid team,” BHS coach Matt Sexton said. “They were a senior-laden team that is hitting their peak. I thought we competed very well with them. Considering the difference in experience level between us and them, I thought we did very well.”

The lone Blanchester victory came at second singles where Brooke Honaker was a 7-5, 6-3 winner over Whitlin.
