Blan MS boys 2nd, ROB girls 5th at Monroe CC meet

MONROE — The Blanchester Middle School boys cross country team finished second Monday at the Alex Fultz Monroe Invitational cross country meet.

James Campbell, of Wilmington’s Rodger O. Borror Middle School, was the top individual among county runners, placing ninth in 14:07.2 in the boys race.

Also for the young Hurricane, Alex Vail was 19th in 14:48.8; Brandon Walters 36th in 16:57.7.

On the girls side, Borror was fifth overall.

MacKenzie Voges-Pertuset was 17th in 19:16.3 and Jenna Taylor was 18th in 19:23.8.

Annie Newberry ran 20:54.8 and was 28th while Angel Newport was 33rd in 22:30.1, Maggie Swarts was 34th in 22:44 and Mikala Hatfield was 42nd in 24:28.

For the Blanchester girls, Kenzie Kratzer was 19th in 19:44.9.

For the runnerup Blanchester boys squad, Brett Bandow medaled by finishing 10th overall in 14:11.8.

Nolan Gray was 17th in 14:37.5 and Carter Stevens was 20th in 14:52.5. Taylor Cochran ran 14:56 and finished 25th while Matt Holland ran 15:35.6 and was 28th overall.

Brian Miller ran 17:18.6 and finished 38th while Jacob Haun was 39th in 17:23.9. Seth Akers ran 18:27.3 and placed 42nd.
