EC volleyball drops marathon match

HILLSBORO — In a gruelling, five-set South Central Ohio League volleyball match, the East Clinton squad came up on the short end of a marathon 25-27, 25-18, 25-22, 24-26, 11-15 score against Hillsboro Tuesday night.

“I cannot say enough how proud I am of my girls,” EC coach Sarah Sodini said. “Of course, we wanted a win, but they played so well and did not quit. I saw the team that we’ve been working so hard to become and it makes me so excited for the season.”

Paige Lilly had 15 kills, 19 digs and four aces for East Clinton.

Kenzie Campbell was a defensive force at the net with 10 blocks. She also had 16 digs, three aces, four kills and two assists. Mindy Bean had six aces, five kills, two blocks and nine digs.

Kaitlyn Talbott had two kills, a dig and a block. Lacey Peterman had an ace, two kills, nine assists, three blocks and five digs. Logan Peterman had 16 assists, two digs and three aces.
