OWENSVILLE — Blanchester and Clermont Northeastern played to a 0-0 tie Tuesday in a Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference match at the CNHS field.

Blanchester is now 5-1-4 overall and 4-0-3 in league play. Clermont Northeastern is 4-7-1 overall and 2-4-1 in the SBCN.

The Ladycats began the match with a few solid chances to score, coach Kurt Ballinger said. The two teams then settled into a defensive match.

BHS goalkeeper Regan Ostermeier earned her fourth straight shutout and sixth of the season by saving seven shots on goal.

“Both halves played out in a similar manner,” Ballinger said. “Neither team could find a breakthrough goal or much breathing room in the box for a close range shot at goal.”

Ballinger said Mckenzie Hamm led the Wildcats defensive effort. Taylor McQuitty had an active and quality game on the wing, said Ballinger.
