News Journal Report

MORROW — The Blanchester tennis team dropped a 4-1 match Thursday to Little Miami in non-league action on the LM courts.

The Ladycats are now 11-5 on the year.

The lone win for Blanchester came at first doubles where Brooke Honaker and Emily Speakman teamed for a 6-3, 6-4 victory in their first pairing.

“Brooke and Emily wanted the chance to play one doubles match together and they played well,” BHS coach Matt Sexton said. “They have been great leaders on our team and they deserved the chance to have one match together.”

All of the other matches were close, especially at second singles where Lilly Tedrick dropped a 6-1, 5-7, 3-6 match.

“Lilly really had their second singles player frustrated,” Sexton said.
