EC reserve volleyball falls in opener

SOUTH CHARLESTON — The East Clinton reserve volleyball team was defeated by Southeastern 17-25, 26-28 Saturday in the team’s season opener.

“We have a lot of new players and we’re really learning how to work together as a team,” said coach Hannah Wilson. “We played well the second set. Southeastern is a very competitive team.”

Sydney Landrum served well, Wilson noted, and finished with three kills, six digs and a block.

Carrie Pickering and Mariah Dunn had one dig each. Victoria Jamison had two kills. Logan Peterman had seven assists and a dig. Grace Cooper had two aces and a dig. Kaitlyn Talbott had two aces and three kills.

Emily Tong had four digs and an ace. Lacey Peterman had a kill and two digs. Megan Stewart finished with a dig and a block. Taylor Boeckman had six digs. Miranda Beener had an ace and a kill.
