Blan 8th ties, 7th falls to Goshen

The Blanchester seventh and eighth grade football teams played Goshen Wednesday night to open the 2015 season.

The eighth grade Wildcats played to an 8-8 tie

Tanner Creager had 52-yard touchdown pass to Kaleb Goodin on the first play of the fourth quarter. Creager then passed to Nate Bates for the two-point conversion.

James Peters was the leading rusher for Blanchester with 48 yards. Christian Stubbs had 23 yards and caught two passes. Jesse Wright had nine tackles while Creager, Peters and Kadin Berwanger had seven tackles each. Creager and Bates also had interceptions for the young ’Cats.

The Blanchester seventh grade was defeated 6-0 by Goshen.

Brayden Sipple had 36 yards rushing and 55 yards passing. Blake Richards had 28 yards on the ground and led the team with 16 tackles.

Brody Rice caught two passes for 42 yards. Kyle Hopkins and Brady Phillips had six tackles each. Gage Huston had five tackles.
