Trace outlasts EC volleyball

LEES CREEK — The East Clinton volleyball team was defeated by Miami Trace 23-25, 21-25, 25-21, 20-25 Thursday in a South Central Ohio League match.

“We still have one of our middles out with a sprained ankle and another one of our middles went out during the game with an injury,” said EC coach Sarah Sodini. “The girls fought through the changes and played together as a team. I’m looking forward to their play getting better and better. I give credit to Sydney Landrum, Taylor Spence and Carrie Pickering for stepping up and filling positions.”

Mindy Bean had nine kills and three digs. Sam Gaddis had an ace, four kills, 16 assists, three blocks and five digs. Sam Bronson had two aces and two digs. Spence had two aces and eight digs. Alexis Haines had eight digs.

Paige Lilly had an ace, four kills, two blocks and 13 digs. Kenzie Campbell had two aces, six kills, eight blocks and four digs. Kate Durbin had three kills, a block and a dig. Pickering had a block and Landrum had two digs.
