EBER — The Wilmington High School boys soccer team blanked Miami Trace 5-0 Tuesday in a South Central Ohio League match at Panther Stadium on the MT campus.

The Hurricane, now 2-0-1 on the year, struggled early but then put together a solid stretch of soccer to take a 3-0 halftime lead.

“We couldn’t establish any rhythm,” WHS coach Imad El-Macharrafie said. “Once we got the ball on the ground and we developed a better flow, it allowed us to find holes in their defense.”

Kaden Laufer recorded 12 saves to post the shutout in goal for the Hurricane.

Sam Spirk paced the offense with two goals while Charlie Schumacher, Adam Russo and Wyatt Kessler had one goal each.

Assists for WHS went to Schumacher, Kessler, Seth Gunlach, Nate Lakes and Brady Henry.
