LEES CREEK — The East Clinton Lady Astros junior varsity basketball team defeated Wilmington 23-18 Wednesday night in South Central Ohio League action at the EC gym.

Miranda Beener led the Astros with 9 points. Rhylee Luttrell had 5 points and Mackenzie Campbell had 3 points. Kayla Hall, Lacey Peterman and Mersadees Gulley had 2 points each.

Sami McCord led the Hurricane with 14 points, which included a trio of 3-pointers. Heather Fryman and Rachel Barker both had 2 points.

On Saturday, East Clinton lost to Washington 28-26.

Paige Lilly led with 7 points while Peterman had 6 points. Beener had 6 points and 6 rebounds and Luttrell scored 5 points. Makenzy Weiner had 5 steals and Gulley pulled in 3 rebounds. Sierra Christian had 2 points.
