The Blanchester eighth grade boys basketball team defeated New Richmond 47-33 in the regular season finale.

Blanchester, 12-3 on the year, will begin tournament play 9 a.m. Saturday against Norwood at the Blanchester Middle School gym.

The Wildcats forced 13 Lions turnovers in the first half because of a full-court press, coach Brad Ballinger said. Blanchester led 28-10 at the half.

Brayden Sipple had 23 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Logan Heitzman had 10 points and four steals. Trenton Czaika had eight points while Bryce Highlander and Nolan Gray scored two points each. Kyle Hopkins had two points and four assists. Brady Phillips hauled down four rebounds.
