Boys basketball sectional tournament draw

None of the four Clinton County high school boys basketball teams earned a high seed in Sunday’s sectional tournament draw.

Wilmington was the highest seeded team at No. 12 in the Div. I Cincinnati Sectional. The Hurricane, 12-8 on the year, will open sectional play 6 p.m. Feb. 28 at Fairfield High School against either Glen Este (11-9) or Middletown (7-12). The Trojans and Middies will meet 5 p.m. Feb. 25 at Fairfield.

In the opposite quarter-bracket, Cincinnati Oak Hills is the No. 3 seed and will face Talawanda in the first game Feb. 25. Loveland meets Edgewood on Feb. 25. The winners of the two games meet Feb. 28.

Blanchester (9-10) is the No. 15 seed in the Div. III Cincinnati Sectional at Western Brown High School. The Wildcats will play Ripley 4 p.m. Feb. 25 in the opener. The winner will meet No. 1 seed Summit Country Day 6 p.m. March 1 at Western Brown.

Clinton-Massie (7-12) are the No. 16 seed in the Div. II Kettering Sectional at Kettering Fairmont’s Trent Arena. The Falcons will play Madison (8-11) 8:30 p.m. Feb. 24. The winner will meet either Dunbar or Bellbrook 7:30 p.m. Feb. 27 at Trent Arena.

East Clinton (4-16) is the No. 19 seed in the Div. III Cincinnati Sectional at Princeton High School. The Astros will meet Purcell-Marian 7 p.m. Feb. 25 at Princeton. The winner will face either Shroder or Clermont Northeastern 7:30 p.m. Feb. 28 at PHS.
