Blan 7th grade girls season ends with 35-18 loss

The Blanchester seventh grade girls basketball team was defeated by Norwood 35-18 Monday in the first round of the Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference North Division tournament.

“These girls have come so far this season,” said Blanchester coach Bella Cook. “Their ball-handling, layups, and composure have enhanced so much from October. This is my second year of coaching and I have learned a lot from the seventh and eighth grade teams. I’m very blessed to have such a good group of girls. They should be proud of the accomplishments they have made.”

Maddie Creager had five points, six rebounds and an assist. Zoie Stanforth had five points, nine rebounds and two blocked shots. Daelyn Staehling had four points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots.

Emma Winemiller scored two points, handed out one assist, came up with two steals and grabbed two rebounds. Lacie Tedrick had two points and a rebound. Paris Clagg and Maddison Ogden had two rebounds each. Aleah Wells and Taylor Combs had one rebound each. Kenzie Kratzer had a steal and a rebound.
