Arehart kicks WHS past WCH 5-2

WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE — The Wilmington High School girls soccer team pulled away in the second half for a 5-2 win over Washington in South Central Ohio League action in Fayette County.

Wilmington “started out slow and was sluggish in the first half, but we got things going and played better in the 2nd half,” according to assistant coach Kenny Ferrence.

Bryah Arehart scored a pair of goals, an unassisted tally in the 10th minute and another in the 20th minute assisted by Drezden Beam.

A Lady Blue Lion goal made it 2-1 at the half.

Arehart then assisted on Savannah Morgan’s goal to put WHS up 3-1. Washington then scored an own goal to make it 4-1 before scoring one of their own for a 4-2 match.

Alyssa Lewis rounded out the scoring in the 75th minute, with Arehart picking up her second assist of the match.

Wilmington has an SCOL showdown with Chillicothe 7 p.m. Tuesday at Alumni Field. The Lady Cavaliers defeated Clinton-Massie 4-2 on Tuesday.
