A youth cross country program will begin Sept. 16 at Wilmington College. The program is for boys and girls in kindergarten through six grade.

The program is an introduction to cross country to encourage youth to get out and be active, Wilmington College cross country coach Ron Combs said.

Those interested will meet 6 to 7 p.m. Sept. 16 on the track at the college and will then run the college’s cross country course. The group will then meet each Monday and Wednesday through Oct. 16.

The program’s finish will be to run the college cross country course following the annual Jenna Strong Fall Classic meet Oct. 16 at WC. The Jenna Strong Fall Classic is one of the largest cross country meets in Ohio, Combs said.

Cost of the program is $35. Participants to register up to the first day of the program Sept. 16.

To reserve your child’s spot in the program, or if you have questions call WC head coach Ron Combs 937-218-3220. You may also reach Combs by email at [email protected].
