GREENFIELD — Courtney Smart had four hits, including a homerun, and picked up the pitching victory Wednesday as Wilmington opened South Central Ohio League action with a 15-2 win over McClain.
The Lady Hurricane is 2-2 overall and 1-0 in the SCOL.
Smart pitched five innings and gave up one earned run while striking out five. At the plate, she homered in the seventh inning and went 4-for-5 with three runs batted in.
Sophie Blessing had four hits and scored four times from the leadoff spot while Olivia Veidt scored three times and drove in three runs for the Lady Hurricane.
