WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE — Led by Claire Carruthers, Clinton-Massie pounded out 23 hits and dominated Washington 17-4 in a South Central Ohio League game at Washington Senior.
“We started off the season the way I wanted to tonight,” CM coach Anthony Lauer said. “We hit the ball really well.”
The six-inning victory was the first game of the season for the Lady Falcons.
“We were able to get a couple scrimmages in before we started play tonight which helped us a lot to see where we were,” Lauer said.
Carruthers had five hits, drove in four runs and scored three times. Lindsey Amberger had four runs batted and a homerun, a three-run blast. Taylor Florea and Victoria Sivert both had four hits.
“We had several girls who had great nights at the plate,” said Lauer. “I could mention every player tonight and they all contributed to this win.”
On the mound, Florea went the distance with eight strikeouts. She did not walk a batter.
