WC men’s lacrosse rallies, but falls short 10-9

Wilmington College rallied with three fourth quarter goals but came up one short in a 10-9 loss to Wabash Wednesday night in a non-conference match at Williams Stadium.

The Fightin’ Quakers (2-6 on the year) never led but tied the match at 1-1, 2-2 and 3-3 before Wabash pulled away. Down 8-4, Wilmington fought back with five second half goals but was never able to grab the lead.

Jhordan Lang had four goals for Wilmington. Reid Delaney had an assist and three goals, including one at the 11:30 mark of the fourth to make it 10-8. Lang scored the final goal with 1:15 to play.

Tanner Diment had two goals and Caden Smolenski rounded out the scoring with one goal. Andrew Miller had two assists.

Paul Koerbel was in goal for Wilmington.

Wabash outshot Wilmington 45-40 and had a 20-17 edge in shots on goal.
