CM softball hitting on all cylinders, crushes Loveland 15-3

LOVELAND — The Clinton-Massie offense remained in high gear Thursday and the result was a 15-3 five-inning victory over Loveland in a non-conference softball game.

In two games, the Lady Falcons have collected 42 hits while striking out just one time. In this game, Massie had 19 hits in just five innings.

“I definitely like our approach at the plate right now,” CM coach Anthony Lauer said.

Lindsey Amberger and Taylor Florea led the CMHS hit parade. Florea was 4-for-5 with two runs scored while Amberger was 4-for-5 with two runs and four RBI. She had three doubles

Kelsey Carter blasted a three-run homerun in the top of the fifth to cap an eight-run outburst by the red, white and blue.

In addition to a strong offense, Florea struck out 11 and not walk a batter on the mound while the defense played error-free ball behind her.

“This is the second error-free game we’ve played,” Lauer said. “I like how things are coming together. Great offense and defense.”
