WAYNESVILLE — Clinton-Massie was unable to hold a 5-0 lead Tuesday and lost to Waynesville 7-5 in 8 innings in a non-league baseball game at WHS.

The Falcons, 3-2 on the year, led 5-0 after 4 innings.

“As well as executed against Hillsboro (Monday night), tonight we had plays we needed to execute to get out of a few innings and we allowed them to continue innings with our lack of defensive plays,” CM coach Brian Camp said.

The loss puts the Falcons at 3-2 on the year. The Spartans are 5-1.

“We let one get away,” Camp said. “Waynesville is a quality team.”

JT Wolf had two hits, including a double, for Clinton-Massie.

Max Murray and Dana Eichenhorst were the pitchers for the Falcons. Murray started and went four innings. Eichenhorst took the loss.

“While I was happy with the way our pitchers were tonight, we had pitcher’s counts with the batters and we didn’t make the pitches we needed to make,” said Camp. “We needed to make quality pitches and we just didn’t get that done.”
