CINCINNATI — The Wilmington High School tennis team was ousted in the second round of the Ohio Tennis Coaches Association Div. I state team tournament Thursday by Cincinnati St. Xavier, 5-0, at Courtyard Sportsplex.

Last season, St. Xavier was defeated in the state tournament by eventual champion Sycamore in the Southwest Regional semifinal round.

St. Xavier improves to 8-1 this season.

The match was moved indoors because of inclement weather.

The Hurricane will resume its regular season schedule Friday when Washington Senior visits the WHS courts for a key South Central Ohio League match.
