BHS boys on top after first day of SBC track, field

GOSHEN — The Blanchester High School boys track and field team lead the Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference National Division championship meet following the first day of competition Monday at Goshen High School.

The Ladycats are second behind Williamsburg, 70 to 34. The 4×800-meter relay team of Mckenzie Hamm, Olivia Gundler, Savannah Rhodes and Alley Davis clocked a race-best 10:24.3.

Regan Ostermeier won the shot put with a best toss of 36-1.75.

On the boys side, Blanchester had 65 points while second place CNE has 37 points.

Joey Holcomb claimed titles in the shot put (49-10.5) and discus (124-2). Johnny Schirmer won the high jump by clearing 5-8.
