WILMINGTON — Wilmington finished off an 18-1 win Friday over Goshen with a 10-run sixth inning in Div. II sectional softball action at the WHS diamond.
The Lady Hurricane is 15-8 on the year and will face Ross 5 p.m. Tuesday at Kings High School in the Div. II Cincinnati sectional lower bracket championship game. Ross defeated Blanchester 14-3 on Friday.
“A good team win tonight,” WHS coach Glen Blessing said. “The girls hit the ball well. We still need to work on our focus from start to finish and taking care of the small details, such as situational baserunning. But, all in all, they did what they needed to do to win tonight’s contest.”
Olivia Veidt and Madi Flint homered and drove in three runs each to lead an 18-hit Wilmington attack. Lyla Self had four hits and scored three times.
Kaci Younker had three RBI and scored three times. Kendra McKenna collected three hits as did Hunter Toller.
