East Clinton, Clinton-Massie and Blanchester boys track and field athletes competed in the final day of district competition Saturday at two sites.

East Clinton was at Welcome Stadium for the Division III Dayton District track and field championship while Blanchester and Clinton-Massie athletes were at the Div. II New Richmond Section 2 District track and field championship.

The top four athletes in each event at the district meets earn a berth in the upcoming regional meets. The Div. III Southwest Regional will be held at Troy High School while the Div. II Southwest Regional meet will be held at Piqua High School. Previously, it was incorrectly reported the regional meets would be held at Welcome Stadium.

East Clinton’s Ethan Ambrose cleared 6-1 to win the high jump competition. He was clear of misses at 6-0 and 6-1 and that gave him the first-place nod over Payton Gates of Twin Valley South.

The East Clinton boys 4×100-meter relay team of Zack Mitchell, Wesley Kidder, Patrick Dotson and Anthony Osburn clocked 46.08 seconds and finished third to earn a regional berth.

Kidder also advanced in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles, an event he finished fourth in with a time of 42.66 seconds.

Luke Richardson of Clinton-Massie won the 100-meter dash, clocking an 11.4 and edging out runnerup Alex Koopmans of Goshen by a tenth of a second.

Tanner Creager, a freshman from Blanchester, finished fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:03.11.

The Clinton-Massie 4×100-meter relay team of Cole O’Bryon, Devon O’Bryon, Bailey Leforge and Luke Richardson clocked 45.08 and finished third overall.

The O’Bryons and Richardson were joined by Christian Poynter in the 4×200-meter relay. They were third in the race with a time of 1:32.97.

Blanchester’s quartet of Creager, Derick Bowman, Ricky Davis and Dylan Miller clocked 3:37.9 in the 4×400-meter relay and finished fourth overall.
