25 races featured at Clinton County Fair

WILMINGTON — Brian Georges got out of the gates strong Monday as he drove his own Sizzling Chips to a win in the first race at the Clinton County Fair.

The three-year-old filly paced the mile in 2:02.3. Mary Ann Georges co-owns the horse with Brian.

In all there were 25 races on Sunday and Monday at the fair. Aside from Georges there were several Clinton County connections to the harness racing dockets.

On Monday, in the fourth race, a Georges-trained Rainbow Magic, with Wyatt Avenatti in the sulky, hit the line first in a two-year-old filly mile pace.

In the fifth race, Sandra Burnett of Wilmington owns the race winner, Miss Lorelei. Ryan Holton drove the three-year-old filly to a win in 2:02 in a mile trot.

In the seventh race, Mark Winters Sr. drove and trains M And M Peanut, the third-place finisher. Brian Georges trains the runnerup in the 10th race, Justin’s Money.

On Sunday, in the first race, Say Hey Adam finished third and is owned by Brian and Mary Ann Georges.

Brad Woodruff, of Sabina, owns I’m Hungover which was the runnerup in the seventh race on Sunday. Brian Georges trains I’m Hungover.

In the ninth race, Park Official was the runnerup and is trained and co-owned by Winters.

In all, Both Dan Noble and Ryan Holton both drove five winners over the course of the two days. All of Noble’s wins came on Sunday while Holton drove four straight winners on Monday and had one on Sunday.
