One fundraising activity that has been successful at growing awareness and funding is the Habitat ReStore. The Clinton County ReStore is located at 1032 Main Street, near the fairgrounds entrance. It sells new and used building materials and supplies. The store is open on Saturdays 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday evenings 4:30 to 7 p.m. Recycled items for homes, unusual items, furniture and appliances can be found at the ReStore.

This summer, Habitat of Clinton County has doubled down on its building efforts with two homes in the New Vienna area. Habitat for Humanity is searching for families who want to join with them to build a home in 2018. The homes are not free. Homes are built with volunteer labor and the mortgages are repaid with no interest loans at an affordable rate that meets the financial burdens of the family.

To learn more about building a home, call the Habitat office at 937-655-9484.
