ARCANUM — The Wilmington High School boys golf team opened its season Friday with a fourth-place finish at the Dorwood Optimist Invitational at Beechwood Golf Club.

The Hurricane had a 512 team total while tournament winner Northmont posted a 496. Runnerup Fairmont also had a 496.

Jack Murphy led Wilmington with an 81.

“The course had some tough winds and it made for some difficult scoring conditions,” WHS coach Phil Gilmore said.

Wilmington will play at Xenia’s WGC Golf Course 9:15 a.m. Tuesday against the Buccaneers.
