Ladycats shake off slow start, win 4-0

BLANCHESTER — With two goals in each half, the Blanchester girls shook off a slow start and defeated Felicity 4-0 Thursday in a Southern Buckeye Conference National Division match at Barbour Memorial Field.

Bekah Sams maintained the hot hand with two goals for BHS. She now has 10 goals in the past four games and 14 goals for the season.

Emily Hinkle and Audrey Jordan both had assists in the match. Hinkle has 10 for the year while Jordan now has 11.

Blanchester is 8-2-1 on the year.

Sams opened the scoring with Jordan garnering the assist on a long ball that Sam tracked and ripped past the Felicity keeper. Jordan then scored a goal with Hinkle assisting for a 2-0 BHS lead at the half.

Sams made it 3-0 with Hinkle assisting then Shauna Fiebing scored the first goal of her career to close the scoring. Jordan assisted on Fiebing’s goal.

Regan Ostermeier made one save in the first half and Sabrina Duncan made one save in the second half.

Mckenzie Miller led the BHS defense, which now has five shutouts this season.
