BLANCHESTER — The Blanchester volleyball team opened its season Tuesday with an 18-25, 20-25, 25-21, 25-15, 10-15 loss to Batavia in a non-league match at the BHS gym.

“We started off really slow in the first couple games but once we got our rhythm going we played really well,” BHS coach Jenna Weisflock said. “We just came up a little short at the end.”

Morgan Oberle lead the Ladycats with eight kills, 11 blocks and five digs.

The Ladycats return to action Thursday at home against Wilmington.
