Ladycats pick up first win, sweep Lady ’Cane

BLANCHESTER — Crisp passing was the key as the Blanchester volleyball team defeated Wilmington 25-13, 25-12, 25-15 Thursday in a non-league match at the BHS gym.

“The girls really showed up to play,” BHS coach Jenna Weisflock said. “They worked together as a team to pull out the win. Everyone was moving, communicating and flowing together.

“We have been focusing a lot on our passing. Our passes were a lot better which lead us to be able to set the ball and hit. The offense was hitting pretty hard from every position.”

Cheyenne Brown had 19 service points and six kills while Shelbie Rose had 14 points and 13 assists. Asia Baldwin contributed 17 points, three kills and 13 perfect passes.

Casey Kingsland had 10 points, three kills and nine assists. Ally Davis chipped in with five points, an assist and two kills. Morgan Oberle had nine points 12 perfect passes, 11 kills and three blocks. Kassidy Abney had three perfect passes.
