GEORGETOWN — With three shots hitting the frame, the Blanchester girls soccer team fell to Georgetown 2-0 Monday in a Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference National Division matchup at GHS.

The Lady G-Men won the possession battle in the first half, BHS coach Kurt Ballinger said, and took advantage of “shaky passing” by the Ladycats to generate several scoring chances.

However, Regan Ostermeier had six saves in goal in the first half to keep the match scoreless at the break. BHS had two shots, both hitting the top post and deflecting away, Ballinger added.

Georgetown struck early in the second half winning a “1 v 1” battle for a 1-0 lead.

Blanchester countered with a better half offensively, recording nine shots, but Emily Hinkle hit the top post with a shot.

Ostermeier finished with 10 saves. Hinkle played well in the midfield, Ballinger said, and freshman Lana Roy had a solid game defensively for Blanchester, now 1-1 on the year.
