CHILLICOTHE — With the league title on the line, Wilmington came up short 3-2 to Chillicothe in a South Central Ohio League match at Ohio University-Chillicothe.
The Lady Cavaliers are unbeaten at 12-0 in league play while the Lady Hurricane is 10-2. WHS is 12-7 overall and CHS is 16-5.
“Their middle courts were just too much for us,” WHS coach Doug Cooper said. “You have to give credit to Chillicothe for going undeated in the SCOL and notching a very respectable 16-5 record. They are tough to beat.”
Allison Brooks won at first singles to post her 84th career win as the regular season comes to a close.
Wilmington will play begin play Thursday morning at Mason High School in the Div. I Sectional tournament.
