Coyle paces Wildcats to 7-0 win over Rockets

OWENSVILLE — A strong start helped propel the Blanchester High School boys soccer team to a 7-0 win Tuesday over Clermont Northeastern in Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference National Division action at CNE.

The win puts the Wildcats at 2-1 in the conference. The Rockets are 0-2.

Blanchester scored two goals early and led 4-0 at halftime, coach Troy Ballinger said. The ’Cats played keep away in the second half and added three more goals.

Nevan Coyle notched the three-goal hat trick and handed out an assist.

Topher Farrow had two goals while Cameron Gibson added a goal. Brant Bandow notched the first goal of his career.

Assists also went to Cole Ficke, Hunter Miller and Carter Stevens.

Jake Fischer, the BHS goalkeeper, posted his first career shutout and made 10 saves.
