Taylor Martin has been hired as the head women’s lacrosse coach, effective Sept. 3, according to Wilmington College Vice President of Athletic Administration Dr. Terry Rupert

Martin comes to Wilmington after serving as the graduate assistant coach at Division III Castleton University, located in Castleton, Vt. The Spartans were 24-13 in her two seasons on the sideline. She takes over from Bree Galloway, who left after one season.

“Taylor Martin will bring an infectious attitude that will serve the needs of the women’s lacrosse program effectively,” said Rupert. “Between her playing career and coaching experience, we believe she is the right person to continue to building our program in the Ohio Athletic Conference.”

In addition to her collegiate coaching experience, Martin worked with the LB3 Elite girls lacrosse team and has been a counselor with the Nike Lacrosse Camps.

Martin was a four-year starting goalkeeper at Division III Berry College. She was a team captain for the Vikings and earned IWLCA Honor Roll honors. Additionally, she was awarded the conference’s Sportsmanship Award.

Wilmington is coming off a 2-14 season in 2017.
