Astros return to Snow Hill, cage Lions by 50

GREEN TOWNSHIP — After two weeks away, the East Clinton boys golf team returned to Snow Hill Country Club Thursday and had no trouble with Leesburg Fairfield, 170 to 220, in a non-league match.

“Respectable score tonight,” EC coach Mike Deters said. “It’s good to be back at Snow Hill after two weeks away. Next week we’ve got to play better with Chillicothe (Monday) and Massie (Wednesday) coming to Snow Hill.”

Deters said the Astros will have three matches in the span of week, but that will be good preparation for the Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference duals and league tournament later in the year.

Jacob Olds was the match medalist with a 39 on the front nine.

Brendon Walters had a 40 and Shane Streber carded a 45. Gage Mcconahay came in with a 46 and Logan Kelly had 48.

For Fairfield, Wyatt Willey 52, Justin Sowders 53, Brandon Vidourek 57 Bryson Simmons 58 Bryce Posey 61, Ethan Saunders 66.
