ECJH splits volleyball with Chillicothe

LEES CREEK — The East Clinton Junior High School volleyball teams split matches Tuesday with Chillicothe.

The seventh grade squad posted a 25-15, 25-12 win.

Gracie Evanshine had 14 points, 10 aces, a kill and two digs. Katrina Bowman had seven points, six aces, three kills and two digs. Jericka Boggs had five points and three aces. Alexis Rolfe had four points. Gracie Boggs had three points and two aces. Marci Ellis served three points. Holly Bernard had a point and Braylynn Malone had a kill and a dig.

Coach Jaime Evanshine said seventh grade played well defensively and transitioned “on and off the net better, making big plays at the net, great digs in the back row.”

The eighth grade was defeated 20-25, 25-21, 18-25.

Kiya Byrd had two kills. Carlie Ellis had an ace and a dig. Riley Flint had a kill. Alexia Garen and Katie Hayes both had one dig. Camille Hughes had a kill. Myah Jones had an ace and six kills. Rhylee Luttrell had two aces and a kill.

Emma Malone had an ace, a kill, three digs and 11 assists. Rehanna McQueen had an ace. Melina Noble had three kills.

EC coach Doug Stehlin said the eighth grade “stepped up and played hard.”
