Western Brown outlasts Clinton-Massie in SBAAC tennis

MT. ORAB – Western Brown edged Clinton-Massie 3-2 Thursday in a Southern Buckeye Athletic & Academic Conference American Division match on the WB courts.

The loss puts Massie at 10-2 overall and 3-2 in the division. Western Brown is 7-4 overall and 2-3 in the league.

Anne Thompson lost for just the second time this season for Massie. Her match took more than 2 1/2 hours.

Claire Carruthers and Hailey Stinchcomb are now 13-2 overall and unbeaten in league play.

CM coach Lynn Deatherage was happy with the play of Raelee Schulz and Thompson. “They battled through many deuces and long rallies on a breezy night. It’s disappointing to come up short but we will be ready for them Tuesday when they travel to our courts.”
