The Wilmington High School girls soccer team defeated Dayton Stebbins 6-3 Thursday night in a non-league match at Alumni Field.

“The girls played well,” WHS coach Kerry Lewis said. “We missed several scoring opportunities in the first half but we did a better job finishing around the goal in the second half. Lots of girls got playing time. We emptied the bench.”

Katlyn Jamiel scored in the 11th minute, with a double assist to Sophie Burt and Michelle Huffman, to start the WHS scoring.

Four minutes later, Autumn Housh scored with Petra Bray and Jasmine Jamiel getting credit for assists. Anna Borton tallied the third WHS goal, assisted by Claire Greenlees and Katlyn Jamiel.

In the second half, Housh tallied her second goal of the game with Huffman and Jasmine Jamiel assisting. Jordan Snarr then scored with Katlyn Jamiel getting the assist. Borton rounded out the WHS offensive barrage with Bray receiving the assist.
