Ladycats match with Lady Lions will not be completed

NEW RICHMOND – The Blanchester girls tennis match Monday with New Richmond was halted by rain and will not be completed.

The Ladycats trailed 2-0 at the time of the suspension.

“I’m glad we got at least some of this match in,” BHS coach Matt Sexton said. “It was important with three big league matches this week. Erin (Wilson) played very well. She rallied from 3-5 down in the first. She was playing a very smart match against a very good singles player.”

Sexton had to shuffle the Ladycats doubles lineup with Alexis Vestal being out, he said. Lilly Tedrick teamed with Korie White on the first doubles court. They played well, Sexton said, but came up short because of their lack of experience playing together.

“Now we have to focus on East Clinton on Tuesday. EC will be ready to go, no doubt. We have to match their intensity and focus,” said Sexton.
