East Clinton knocks off Massie on volleyball court

ADAMS TOWNSHIP – The East Clinton volleyball team defeated Clinton-Massie 25-20, 11-25, 25-15, 12-25, 15-13 Wednesday in a non-league match at the Lebanon Road gym.

“This was a hard-fought battle and I’m very proud of the girls’ stamina and effort to finish,” said EC coach Sarah Sodini. “Paige Lilly had a great game. Myah Jones served well. Lacey Peterman played with hustle.”

Lilly had 11 kills and 12 digs. Jones finished with four aces, four kills, five assists, a block and two digs. Lacey Peterman chipped in with a kill.

Also for EC, Logan Peterman had an ace, 18 assists and three digs. Kenzie Campbell had an ace, nine kills, a block and four digs. Victoria Jamison recorded five kills and four blocks at the net. Kait Durbin had two kills, two assists, five blocks and two digs. Sierra Christian had a kill and Emma Malone had two aces and four digs.

On the Clinton-Massie side,

“EC is scrappy and a team you can not let get the momentum,” CM coach Stephanie Reveal said. “There were times when we played flawlessly, but we have to be able to do that with the intensity and drive every time. This week has been a marathon with matches for us.”

Haley Conley had 17 points, four kills, 35 assists, five aces, a dig and a block. Cadin Reveal finished with five points, nine kills and four digs. Taylor Florea had two points, eight kills and three blocks. Faith Cottrell finished with nine points, seven kills, two aces, five digs and a block.

Maddie Enright had three points, an assist and five digs. Taylor Greathouse contributed 14 points, nine kills, an assist, six aces, 23 digs and a block. Rylee Richardson had two points, 10 kills, two digs and a block. Abbey Faucett chipped in with a service ace and two digs. Ashlie Miller had 28 digs
