ADAMS TOWNSHIP – A three-plus hour marathon decided Goshen’s 3-2 win over Clinton-Massie Thursday in SBAAC American Division tennis action on the CM courts.

Caraline Clifton defeated Anne Thompson 7-6 (7-4), 4-6, 7-5 to earn the match victory.

“I’ve never seen such evenly matched tennis competition on the girls courts,” CM coach Lynn Deatherage said. “Kudos to both competitors on the effort.”

Megan Wonderly of CMHS became the first 20-match winner. She has played with four different partners at second doubles and has earned victories at third singles as well.

Deatherage believes the 20 wins is a single season record for Clinton-Massie girls tennis. Wonderly is 20-3 on the year.
