Seniors lead BHS tennis to 5-0 win

BLANCHESTER – Led by the five seniors, the Blanchester tennis team defeated Bethel-Tate 5-0 Thursday in a SBAAC National Divison match on the BHS courts.

The seniors are Erin Wilson, Lilly Tedrick, Alexis Vestal, Korie White and Terra Wichterman.

“It was senior night and it was great to get all five seniors in the lineup,” BHS coach Matt Sexton said. “o have them all win on senior ngiht is pretty special. Erin played an outstanding match. She lost a set to Partin earlier this year, but really never let her in the match this time.

“I was especially happy for Terra. She was able to get her first varsity win. She just joined our team this year, and has been a great teammate. I’m glad she was rewarded for her hard work with a victory.”

The win puts Blanchester at 8-4 overall and 6-1 in the National Division.

“The other four (seniors) have put in a ton of work, especially this summer,” Sexton said. “All the work they’ve put in has us in a position next week to meet our goals, if we play well. If we can go into the SBC tournament in first by ourselves, it gives us an outstanding opportunity to finish the season the way we want.”
