‘Cats come back from early deficit to defeat CNE

BLANCHESTER – Blanchester gave up an early goal but rallied Tuesday to defeat Clermont Northeastern 4-2 in a SBAAC National Division boys soccer match at Barbour Memorial Field.

The Wildcats are 7-4 overall and 5-3 in the National Division. Clermont Northeastern drops to 1-6-1 overall and 1-5-1 in the conference.

The Rockets scored first in the opening minutes of the match. Blanchester answered with a goal late in the first half.

In the second half, Blanchester tallied three goals and held a “comfortable” 4-1 lead before CNE scored the final goal, BHS coach Troy Ballinger said.

Nevan Coyle had two BHS goals while Topher Farrow and Hunter Miller had one each. Cameron Gibson was credited with the only assist for the Wildcats.

Jacob Fischer, the BHS goalkeeper, had five saves.
