Gehrig Huber, a sophomore at Wilmington High School, received his Shodan black belt Tuesday at the Bushido Dragons karate school. Huber was tested Sept. 23 at the school by 6th degree master black belt J.D. Williams, owner of the Bushido Dragons; 2nd degree black belt Rachael Williams; and 3rd degree black belt Luis Reyes. The test was two and a half hours long. J.D. Williams said Huber excelled in his fighting, battling through physical and mental fatigue while going against three black belts. Huber now joins the Bushido Dragons karate school as an instructor. In the photo, from left to right, is J.D. Williams, Gehrig Huber and Rachael Williams.
